BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March
26, 2001--Mr. Bruce Joseph of Houston, Texas won $25,000 for the Children's
Miracle Network, after successfully netting a 3-point basket at the Gillette(R)
3-Point Challenge(R) last Saturday at the Convocation Center at the University
of Texas. Joseph participated in the event on behalf of Kroger stores along
with another contestant for the $25,000 prize. The $25,000 Gillette 3-Point
Challenge, a nation-wide event, is presented by Official NCAA sponsors
Gillette(R), Oral-B(R), and Duracell(R).
In addition to the
thrill of Joseph's $25,000 victory on behalf of the Children's Miracle Network,
the event in San Antonio featured prize giveaways and ten $100 shots for
spectators.
Each contestant in the
$25,000 Gillette 3-Point Challenge event was allowed one shot, which is equal
to a Men's 2001 NCAA(R) Regulation 3-Point Shot. A successful shot earned them
the $25,000 prize. If not, the contestant received a $250 consolation prize. In
addition, a representative from each participating store also attempted the
3-Point Challenge shot to win a $25,000 donation to the charity of their
choice.
