Salt Lake City, Utah (March
12, 2002) — Children’s Miracle Network is pleased to announce a multi-year
partnership with General Growth Properties, Inc., one of the country’s most
experienced mall developers, owners and managers.
“Our
relationship with General Growth provides a unique opportunity to benefit the
17 million children treated annually at the 170 Children’s Miracle Network
hospitals throughout North America,” said Mick Shannon, CEO and President of
Children’s Miracle Network. “General
Growth customers will be helping children in their community every time they throw
a coin into a fountain or buy a Miracle Balloon.”
General
Growth Properties’ partnership with Children’s Miracle Network will include a
series of year-round Corporate and mall-level fund raising events and awareness
programs. Children’s Miracle Network
hospitals will partner with their local GGP mall to develop unique fundraising
events that will benefit hospitalized children in their community.
“We
are committed to strengthening the communities in which our mall’s are members
of, that includes building a better future.
A brighter future means a stronger community. We wanted to partner with a charitable organization that is
equally concerned with the future, especially the future of our children,” said
John Bucksbaum, CEO of General Growth Properties, Inc. “One of the reasons we wanted to partner
with Children’s Miracle Network is all donations stay local,” Bucksbaum said.
“It’s our way of helping strengthen the community in which we own and
manage shopping malls.”
